Meet the top SCGA Junior players competing in the CIF State Girls High School Championship this week at the Victoria Club in Riverside, CA. From avid Golf Pass users to SCGA Champions, this slate of girls has used their SCGA Junior involvement to make it to the big leagues.

 

Irene Kim, Kennedy

  • Won CIF/SCGA SoCal Girls High School Championship at Brookside GC this year to qualify for the State Championship
  • Semifinalist in the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship
  • Won CIF Southern Section individual title in 2017
  • No. 15 in the Rolex AGJA Rankings
  • Has five top-10 finishes in AGJA events this year including four top-five finishes
  • The senior has committed to Northwestern University starting in the fall of 2019
  • SCGA Junior Golf Pass member

 

Jasmine Lew, Marshall

  • Has finished in the top-10 of all seven SCPGA Junior Tour tournaments she has played in this year
  • Won this year’s Golfweek Northern California Junior Open after a two-hole playoff
  • Won the 2018 AJGA Enagic Junior Championship
  • Won CIF City Section individual title at Balboa GC this year
  • Finished tied for sixth at CIF/SCGA SoCal Girls High School Championship at Brookside GC this year to qualify for the State Championship
  • The senior is headed to Cal in the fall of 2019
  • Selected by SCGA Junior to the Merrins Legacy Program, which provided her with monthly instruction from legendary Little Pro, Eddie Merrins

 

Alexa Melton, South Hills

  • Has six top-10 finishes in AGJA events this year including a victory at the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior
  • Won the 2018 SCGA Women’s Amateur Championship at Valencia CC
  • No. 14 in the Rolex AGJA Rankings
  • Committed to Pepperdine for fall 2019
  • Volunteers at SCGA Junior events

 

Brianna Navarrosa, Mater Dei (Chula Vista)

  • Has won two of the past three CIF San Diego Section individual titles including this year
  • Finished second at CIF/SCGA SoCal Girls High School Championship at Brookside GC this year to qualify for the State Championship
  • No. 33 in the Rolex AGJA Rankings
  • Has five top-10 finishes in AGJA Championships this season
  • SCGA Junior Golf Pass member

 

Isabel Sy, Troy

  • Has two top-10 finishes in SCPGA Junior Tour events this year
  • Won 2018 Los Angeles City Junior Championship
  • Has two top-10 finishes in 2018 AGJA events
  • Volunteers for the SCGA Junior Player & Youth Development program at Pico Rivera GC, serving as a role model to junior golfers learning the game

 

Kailie Vongsaga, Diamond Bar

  • Won the 2018 AJGA Junior at Superstition
  • Two additional top-five finishes in AGJA events
  • Qualified for 2017 and 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship
  • Committed to play golf at the University of Arizona next fall
  • Selected for SCGA Junior’s Girls Leadership Team providing mentorship to junior girls
