When did you start playing golf? How did you get involved?
I started playing golf when I was 7 in LA County’s Junior Golf Summer Program. It was a way for my brother and I to stay active during the summer and meet other kids. After a few summers I got my own clubs and started to play year-round with Long Beach Junior Golf Association to make golf friends.
What do you love most about golf?
I love the bonds I make with everyone I meet through golf. They are some of the most important relationships I have in my life and whether we are on or off the golf course we always have a great time.
Why is it important to have Girls Golf of Southeast LA?
There needs to be a space for girls to learn about their golf game, make new friends and learn about themselves. These programs generate life-long friends and change lives forever.
What is your favorite memory from Girls Golf of Southeast LA?
Hitting water balloons on the chipping green with all the girls. It was great to watch them laugh and smile while playing golf.
What would you say to other girls about playing golf?
Continue to play whether it is to hang out with your friends, play on a team or play in college. Everyone finds their own joy in the game that will last a lifetime through the memories you make.
