The SCGA Junior Golf Foundation had a busy week at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, hosted at Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The activities began on Thursday, March 19 when LPGA Professional Maria Fassi hosted the annual Fassi’s Friends Clinic. Twenty-plus juniors participated in the clinic, co-led by SCGA Junior Coaches and SCGA Foundation scholar alums. Two juniors from the Southwest Los Angeles community were selected to compete against Fassi in a putting challenge, and junior Valentina Huaman took first place! The clinic wrapped with a Q&A with Fassi, during which she shared more about the mental side of the game and her journey to professional golf.

On Saturday, SCGA Junior x LPGA*USGA Girls Golf teamed up for the ultimate crossover. SCGA Junior girls of all ages gathered to meet Girls Golf LPGA*USGA Tour Ambassador and Southern California native Lizette Salas. Between signing autographs and fielding questions, Lizette advised the young golfers to stay positive during tough rounds and keep the game fun.

The SCGA Junior Golf Foundation also teamed up with eMotive and Outlyr to support off-site parking for the Championship. Staff and volunteers welcomed attendees to the event and directed traffic while collecting donations for our Player & Youth Development program. The SCGA Junior Golf Foundation raised more than $20,000 through donations- thank you to our incredible volunteers and Palos Verdes Golf Club for making this possible!
