The San Diego American Golf Ambassadors, an all-volunteer group that marshalls American Golf facilities in San Diego, are not only responsible for greeting and supporting golfers at the facilities, but have also become a true charity force in the San Diego region.  As part of a tradition that goes back to 2003, these Ambassadors run closest to the pin contents throughout the year to raise money for the American Golf Foundation, who’s charity is the Jordan and Kyra Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research.  In ten years, the ambassadors have helped raise nearly $600,000 and have set a precedent for American Golf Ambassadors throughout the country.

In addition to their national charity efforts, the San Diego Ambassadors have a local charity component that has supported a variety of charities in San Diego, including SCGA Youth on Course this year.  Their grant to SCGA Youth on Course totaled $8,665, which was thanks to the traditional $10 donation per player per match during the San Diego Ambassadors year-long team competition. The Chula Vista GC ambassadors claimed the title for the sixth time this year.
