What inspired you to join the Board of Directors and what about the mission resonates most with you? I have been a huge fan of golf for many years and have watched my son grow up playing since he was 5 years old. I can see firsthand the impact that golf can make on the younger generation and want to help shape the future vision as a board member.
What does supporting junior golfers mean to you? Supporting junior golfers is providing them the opportunity to learn and grow through the game of golf. There are many similarities between golf and life and I am excited about teaching young golfers the importance of growing, learning and understanding this game as a young individual and how those lessons learned can be applied to everyday life.
A Golfer’s Journey:
What is your favorite golf course memory (playing, watching or volunteering)? Most recently I would have to say my favorite memory was watching Rory win the 2025 Masters. The fact that it went to a playoff against Justin Rose and then sinking a birdie putt to complete the Career Grand Slam was epic. I also have to mention watching my son win the LACC Junior Club Championship — that one might just beat out Rory winning the Masters!
What is one experience or accomplishment you’re most proud of? I would have to say my children are my biggest accomplishments and what I am most proud of. Seeing them grow up before my eyes and watching them mature into hardworking, fun and determined sixteen-year-olds is amazing.
Dream foursome? Who’s in it and why? I would have to pull a football player into the mix. Tiger Woods (arguably the greatest golfer of our generation), Tom Brady (arguably the greatest football player of our generation who is an avid golfer — it would be fascinating to hear about his career and how it relates to golf), Wyndham Clark (winner of the 2023 US Open at LACC — it would be great to play with him and talk about his experience winning that tournament), and Jack Nicklaus (the winner of the most major golf tournaments and an all-around fantastic human being — hearing his life story in person would be extraordinary).
Beyond the Course:
What is one piece of advice you would give to a junior in our programs? My biggest piece of advice would be to stay positive. As a sport, golf has many ups and downs, but staying positive is important as you continue to craft your game and skill set.
