2015 SCGA Youth on Course Scholars
SCGA Youth on Course Scholarship Program is designed to help youth continue their education in college or vocational school. This year, $126,000 will be distributed to 37 students for tuition, room and board, and educational supplies.
California State University, Fullerton
A graduate of Savanna High School in Anaheim, Andres will be the first person in his family to attend college. He has been an active Youth on Course member since 2013 after joining the Tiger Woods Learning Center. That is the same year Andres decided to focus on golf and participated in many Youth on Course outings during his time as a junior golfer. Through his classes at TWLC, he learned of his passion for science and plans to pursue a degree in engineering at Cal State Fullerton.
Sophomore, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Rachel is a proud graduate of Mater Dei High School, where she maintained a 4.1 GPA. She has participated in the athletics program, art department, student government and marketing team on her school’s campus. As she developed as a student throughout the past four years, she also grew as a golfer. Being a golfer has made her appreciate and have patience with life’s challenges. Rachel is planning on attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, majoring in architectural engineering with a minor in studio art.
