Learning to Compete
The Learn to Compete Tournament Series is open to any member of SGCA Junior’s Player and Youth Development program who are Level 6 and above. Golfers will gain experience in a competitive tournament atmosphere where every stroke counts and prizes will be awarded following each tournament. Members of Player and Youth Development, who are Level 6 and above in the current or previous instruction session, are eligible to play.
Tournaments will consist of different formats and will be broken down in to 4 different flights:
- Girls Ignition (8-11)
- Girls Fire (12+)
- Boys Ignition (8-11)
- Boys Fire (12+)
Points will be awarded following each tournament and those points will count towards qualifying for the year-end championship.
All players will receive 3 points for completion of each tournament. Players who compete in all 7 events will receive additional 10 points towards final standings.
Individual point breakdown:
- 1st Place: 10 Additional Points
- 2nd Place: 7 Additional Points
- 3rd Place: 5 Additional Points
Team play point breakdown:
- 1st Place Team: 8 Additional Points Each
- 2nd Place Team: 5 Additional Points Each
- 3rd Place Team: 3 Additional Points Each
Match Play point breakdown:
- 5 additional points for a matchup win
- 2 additional points for a matchup tie
